You can forget your KitKats, Twix and Boost bars. The King of Biscuits has to be the Tunnock’s Caramel and Roasted Coconut Log.

You may add your own suggestions, but they will be wrong.

But the bits all drop off in your tea. That's a biscuit fail in my book.

It's got to be the chocolate-covered Hobnob.

The biscuit world, as I have pointed out before, is ruled by the Mint Viscount.

ginger nuts.

or

dark chocolate hob-nobs?

after 32 years, i am no closer to a decision. - i think i'll have a cup of tea, and a hob-nob.

(jaffa cakes are good, verr good, but they're cakes)

The OP's is a chocolate bar, not a biscuit.

What about Abbey Crunch? The forefather of the Hob-Nob?

Personally I like a custard cream. 🙂

I disagree, as do Tunnock's themselves who describe it as a wafer.

Tunnocks's use the Scottish definition... if it can be deep fat fried it is a chocolate bar, it it can't it is a biscuit. If you fried one of these it would ignite.

hard to beat a rich tea IMO....

But Custard Creams - good call

How about a Pink Wafer for variety?

Rather partial to a Twix - now is this a biscuit or a chocolate bar?

Much as I *love* Choccie hobnobs, they're a bit too mass market to be a real "king" of biscuits.

Borders Dark Chocolate Gingers are a little more exclusive, and very, very edible.

In fact, does anybody remember the chocolate covered gingernut they did briefly. There was a biccie that died too young...

Careful, that could spark as much controversy as the recent does God exist Y/N (delete as appropriate) or the Ton’s aching willy threads.

my vote goes for the humble Tunnocks Caramel Waffer, the bog standard one not the log that is covered in coconut. (although i'm biased as I'm a local boy)

It is the best biccy by far (my defination is if it gets dunked in tea or coffee its a biccy)

For me at least, shortbread is the undisputed king of biscuits.

Party Rings are ace, but I prefer purple.

Not a fan on the caramel logs; trying to improve the perfection that is a caramel wafer is a step too far.

Plain chocolate rich teas are nice, of hob nobs for dunking.

Foxs Golden Crunch Creams

There's biscuits and then there's 'bisquits'...

The correct answer is Pfeffernusse.

Rather partial to a Twix - now is this a biscuit or a chocolate bar?

That's actually a question of great interest to the taxman, as VAT is payable on biscuits but not cakes. McVities spent a lot of time and money proving that Jaffa Cakes were actually cakes for this reason: http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/hollycruise/entry/jaffa_cakes_and/

Eh? There is no debate: it's a chocolate bar. You only need look at its position and price in the supermarket.

As far as im aware though a Twix is the only chocolate bar with a solid biscuit base through its entire length - others only have biscuit pieces or areas of crunch or alternative texture.

Now - compare this with a 'rocky' say for example - I think most would comment that this is a biscuit - they both have very similar attributes - but one is clearly marketed as a biscuit and the other a chocolate bar.

Discuss....

I would ask my mate from Suffolk Trading Standards but I'm still scarred from his explanation on the EC position on whether quiches are flans or vice / versa.

Tunnocks log wafers are good, as are dark chocolate digestives, but dark chocolate gingers are the best...

Rich Tea? So there is someone that likes this bland compressed cardboard tat?

Chocolate hob nobs or custard creams. Can't decide.

Whoever posted the choccy macaroons up there, i'm with you. Not really a biscuit tho.

Ginger nut/crunch hasn't been getting the support it deserves.

I have enthusiastically enjoyed biscuits for many years and in my experience Fox's brand are top of the tree. My current fave is the Fox's Chunkie range and the White Chocolate Chunkie is a serious heavyweight in the biscuit world. Nothing comes close. nom nom nom....

Abernethy for dunking, fig rolls for riding, Fox's luxury selection for when folks are round for a cuppa.
