Has anyone else seen this nonsense advertised?
It's apparently a re-imagining of WWI where we are fighting war of the world's style tripods
I find it a bit, well a lot, disrespectful to trivialise the horrors of the great war, more so after visiting the somme a couple of years ago
It's on the HISTORY channel FFS
SiFi channel I could cope with but it is supposed to teach you history !

I find that a pretty sick message.
is it any worse than tarantinos reimagining of world war 2 in inglorious bastards or any other Hollywood war film infact any revisionist history that we see after any conflict?

Some alternative history is good, I like Turtledoves series about an invasion during WW2
Ash - A secret history by Mary Gentle is a good read.
Basically an alternative history of late Medieval Europe through the eyes of a female mercenary captain, golems and bloody violence 🙂
The mrs and I thought it was a bit off as well. Maybe we are a bit too precious but it really does trivialise the real subject somewhat.
