To the darker side of sport, for a change. How about a thread of fine sporting bust ups?

Thusly;
Mendez, just out of shot bar his fist, laying out Paul Ackford

A Champions League match IIRC. Can't remember if the hard-bitten Northerner or the soft Southern Jessie came off worse, though it looks like Batty is employing the Crane Technique 8)

Alfie tries to have a few choice words, almost certainly after hearing a few choice words.

If it came down to a rumble, I know which side I'd want him to be on! Mine!

Handbags you say...

" All Black fined for handbag brawl

All Blacks flanker Chris Masoe was fined NZ$3,000 (£1,000) after being found guilty of hitting a man during a scuffle in a Christchurch bar.

The New Zealand Rugby Union fined Masoe after the incident which also involved ex-All Blacks captain Tana Umaga.

Masoe reportedly punched a man in the jaw after tripping over his legs at about 7am on Sunday in Christchurch.

Umaga then grabbed a woman's handbag and hit Masoe twice across the head, at which Masoe allegedly burst into tears.

The two players were out in the city after their Wellington Hurricanes' side lost Saturday's Super 14 final to the Canterbury Crusaders.

The NZRU said it accepted Umaga's word that he was trying to defuse the situation, and found he had no case to answer.

Masoe, who was named in the All Blacks side to face Argentina on 24 June, admitted his role in the incident and apologised on Tuesday.

"I accept that it was totally inappropriate to behave the way I did and regret that it happened," Masoe said in the NZRU statement.

Umaga has replaced a mobile phone which was inside the handbag and broken in the scuffle.

"This was a regrettable incident that everyone would now like to put behind them," Umaga said. "

Assuming you mean the Hinault ones the 1st one is when some striking French farmers blocked a stage of the TdF. He sorted that one out.

A few years later he showed he'd lost none of his fight when presenting a prize at one of the tour's stages and a protester crashed the stage. He sorted that one out as well.

They didn't call him Le Blaireau for nowt.

@funkrodent - Batty vs La Suax (the channel islands finest) I remember seeing that live, couldn't stop laughing. I think it started over a throw in

@Ro5ey, indeed Spurs only ever enforcer sadly

Had a big row with a teammate myself in a match, the captain came over and told us one us had to go off, we didn't have any subs !
