I was going to see the Fall with a friend who is a big big fan. He cannot go now and to be honest I don't really like them.. So.

I have 3 Tickets (e-mailable code) for Concorde 2 Brighton tonight at 19:30. If anyone wants them, they can have them, just make a donation to STW. Seems a shame to waste them.

Mate, no-one really likes them-uh. Cos they've-uh only made four songs-uh worth bothering with-uh.

If I wasn't 400 miles away I'd have them off you in a shot.

I'd also have a look at nickf's music collection while flushing his head down the toilet-uh.

Always different, always the same. Genius, one artist who's passing I will weep.

I-uh agree, there are very few bands that fill me with the kind of apathy required to 'blow' thirty quid !

Mark E Smith has a very loyal group of fans who do identify with his 'vision' and the term genius is often used by them. I however, just don't really get it. Maybe should have gone to find out !

Too far, too dark, too lazy... Rather go for a ride !

A Peel quote, if I'm not mistaken.

I respect The Fall, I absolutely think they should exist, and if Mark E Smith didn't exist we'd clearly need to invent him.

But it's just unlistenable-uh.

Honestly, to my (cloth) ears even complete tripe like Better The Devil You Know is a far superior tune than Eat Y'Self Fitter. Leaving aside the fact that Kylie's a lot more appealing physically, obviously.

You should try some of the more melodic 80s stuff with Brix's involvement

The Fall are great. They have a song about Harold Shipman for a start.

It's outrageous that no-one's thinking about the children subjecting them to the arsewiperista that is Bono.
