Just thought I bring this to your attention as planet loving hippies like what I is -

www.ecosia.org

It's like a  Google, but reckons they plant trees for searchin da web. Nice idea. Works ok too, I hear it's Binging in the background.

Save the planet, man

I used it for a while - then I stopped. Not sure why. I'll start using it again

I made a conscious effort to only use it a while back, but found the search results varied  and it lacks certain aspect and details that Google provide. Sadly back on Google now... I did contribute to planting like 25 trees whilst using it though.

Until it essentially mirrors Google, it won't work for me.

Powered by Bing so essentially useless.

Incredibly opaque ‘accounts’ and they will only donate money if you click on a sponsored link (as this is the only way they get their money). I never click on sponsored links so coupled with point one no point me using it

Ive looked at Ecosia in quite some depth and given its meagre useage, overheads and generally lack of proper accounts I think it is largely bollocks.

That said if it raises the odd pence here and there who am I to argue?

Not completely though. Depends what you're searching for I suppose. Best thing about Bing was always the maps, so they should adopt the mapping and it would be a lot more appealing.
