I'm hoping this will develop into a mine of info as I am truly lost.
I am going to the Alps again this year. last year we took a helmet hero. Good little cam but in reality, not up to the job.
This year I am looking to take something with decent memory and battery life. I have looked at the DV500 wit a bullet cam but it is sooooo specific, not the sort of thing you would load videos and music onto.
The trail has led to an Archos player with the associated camera. i ahve looked at the footage on Youtube and it looks reasonable and compares well with pricier items.
That is the easy bit!!!!!!!!! The hard bit is 1. finding which units will take a camera 2. if the wifi or internet tablet type devices will also record from a head cam and 3. Is it possible to run a better bullet cam, not made by Archos with the device or are there any adaptoers that will make them fit.
I could ask a thousand more questions but I'm sure I am loosing people allready!!

1. A 405 (what I have) and I'm fairly sure anything else in that range you can record with, or use their camera. Otherwise anything which allows you to record will let you use your own bullet cam - which is I think all of them.
2. No idea - check the specs.
3. Yes - that's what I'm doing. You need the travel adapter which allows recording from external AV source, and simply plug the camera in.

I have looked at the specs, even the Archos site doesn't make it clear if the different models all allow the use of a head cam.
Finaly, what make is the travel adaptor. If I type "travel adaptor" inot google, I will be going through the results for hours!!!
