I think the first one was the best one (whenever theres a chance to see it without the shit digital add-ons) other films have better bits in them but I don't think any of them are better films

Caravan of Courage obviously.

I've got a soft spot for qui gon dude and darth maul's huge fight at the end of phantom menace

But really anyone who says anything but Empire Strikes Back or maybe A New Hope is weird.

I like Return of the Jedi. It's got the speeder bikes, the Jabba the Hutt desert bit with the pit, and the massive space battle at the end, which still looks awesome today IMO. Love the bit where they're flying about inside the Death Star.

It also has Ewoks in the cons column.

The 1st one was a bit special just because it was the first one - an amazing experience seeing it in 1978 as a 7 year old.

Empire is widely regarded as the best, but I always liked Jedi.

You are watching them in the correct order, yes?

but I always liked Jedi.

If they do a version that edits out all the Ewoks I might agree but it has to be Empire strikes back for the revelation of who Darth is and the helmet off shot.

And have you watched Pulp Fiction in chrological order?
Memento is a bit trickier to work out, but well worth it.

Empire, I hid in the cinema and watched it twice! Mind you my 10 year old loins stirred in Jedi, which I found alarming and exciting in equal measure. Cheers Leia.

Empire strikes back is the best, followed by return of the Jedi mainly for Princess Leia on Jabba's barge I like Revenge of the sith too.

Jedi. both Jedi and Empire have annoying bits, the bit with Yoda in the swamp in Empire, and the Ewoks in Jedi, but Jedi edges it for me because of the initial sequence with Jabba the Hutt, the speeder chase, and the final space battle.

not strictly a film , but we just watched the new starwars rebels feature and it is surprisingly good.
however the best film of the originals is by far Empire

Would agree with Empire but like watching the story come together in the 3 prequels in fact I would rate Revenge of the Sith next

A New Hope and Empire for me as joint first. I don't rate any of the prequels, they're just painful to watch - hammy acting, cartoon like effects. I just can't sit through them, however I like the plot lines.

The Empire Strikes Back without a doubt, although I also have a soft spot for Return of the Jedi.

Not a fan of the prequels - it's amazing how you can take good actors, an amazing universe and a crapload of money, and mess it up so badly.

Best is a relative term. The most un-shit of all the Star Wars movies is The Empire Strikes Back. None of them are good. In the same way that one of the Saw movies isn't as bad as all the others. To further illustrate the point, if all Godfather films were rated, they would score 8, 11, 9. On the same scale, the Alien films rate 9, 11, 5, 2, -1, well you get the picture. On the same scale, the Star Wars films achieve 5, 6, 3, -25, -50 and minus infinite. But yes, Empire is the best.
