Righto,
I have two tents both are Khyam quick erect tents, one is over 10 yeras old is a 2 man and the other although 8 years old was bought as old stock last year and is a 4 man , but massive.

Looking to sell these two and buy one in the middle.

Used the Large one last week at mayhem and TBH it will be only used for Biking, mainly SITS and Mayhem type events, not for 'going away for the weekend camping'

I have been really impressed by both tents and last week at Mayhem the larger on was great with no leaks at all.

I know nowt about what is a good make and what ones to be careful of.

I was thinking of this one from khyam as they seem good quality to me.

On offer @ £110 and about right size wise

so firstly are Khyam a decent make?, and what others should I be looking at.

Price point is about £100 - £150

and lastly, how do I price the other two tents i want to sell, just look at Fleabay and see what similar ones go for?

That looks like a decent size, however i would caution on two points.

Tents with a canopies like the above have a nasty tendency to turn into head-high lakes when it rains and tip a lot of cold water all over you at the wrong moment.

Also, tents with doors like that need the doors to be VERY securely pegged out in inclement weather or the wind can push the material back, allowing rainwater in.

We bought a 4 man pop up one from Decathlon last year - it's a decent size, but not ridiculously huge. We paid £150 although they seem to have gone up this year:

Check out outwell tents. Bit more expensive but awesome tents. We got a Nevada m with footprint and carpet for 200 of eBay was just about brand new. That's a 5 man and it's a sealed groundsheet so no draughts or rain getting in

I've got a donkeys' years old Khyam Highlander and a newish Freelander. Really rate them.

Went camping a couple of years ago, and had 30mph winds overnight. In the morning, out of the entire campsite there were two tents still standing; one was our Freelander.

Hi,
I have an Outwell Wyoming 5 man tunnel tent up for grabs. Used it once last year it has steal poles and a sewn in ground sheet also comes with the footprint. I'm just going to use my Outwell Montana 6 now so no need for 2 tents. Pick up from the Midlands. looking for £120
Cheers

Sorry I have no pics I bought it for a weekend trip and I didnt take any.

Its looks very much like the Montana 6 same green colour but shorter by one section of poles. It has 2 bedrooms and a living space.

If your local to Stourbridge I have no probs in putting it for you to look at.

Cheers
Steve

I've had a few tents over the years. The last few have changed the criteria slightly with a view more towards comfort and livability(have i just made up a word?).

My last 2 have been Outwells. I've got a Hartford L, this will only change for an XL or XXL.
The integral groundsheet has kept me dry after waking up in 1.5 of water.
The(my second point)porch was the only thing wet as it wasn't sealed.

My issue with the tent you've pictured is that when you open up the door, the elements come in.
I like the porch to chuck off your shoes(and mayhem clothes!)and leave the inner sanctum dry, clean and warm.
I find this a much nicer camping experience. And it keeps all the strength of a dome tent.

cheers Guys

With the state of the weather out there at the moment, does the hydrostatic head (iI think thats what it's called) ie 2000mm, 3000mm or 5000mm make a difference in the real world?
