My contract is soon up, my iPod Touch is in rough condition (though I could spend £70 to get it refurbished) so tempted to go for a new "Smart" phone. I'd love an iPhone 4 but no way am I paying up how much they want for phone/contract for one. Does seem as though could get a better deal on one of the HTCs mentioned. As I will use it for playing music on headphones can anyone tell me about the music player? I assume that it uses MP3 format for songs. Can I transfer direct from iTunes or do I need to convert/use a HTC music library on my PC?
Cheers for any guidance.
I use Windows Media Player to sync music to a Desire S. Very straightforward. They're all mp3 format so I'm not sure how easy it would be from i-Tunes. HTCwebsite states the following sound formats

Playback:.aac, .amr, .ogg, .m4a, .mid, .mp3, .wav, .wma (Windows Media Audio 9)

Is .aac the native format for i-Tunes?
Just noticed this
iphone 3 for £21 - depends on your usage i suppose but good value on the face of it.
Though the HTC's do look pretty good value with alot of kit for the money

Yes Stu - after posting on here my brain actually started to work and I realised I could just look at HTC site. I had assumed that HTC would have there own platform, bit like Nokia have with OVI.
Sounds fair enough anyway.
Cheers

I have an HTC Desire and use HTCSync to install my iTunes library - works fine.
You can install WinAmp free on the Desire. Works well enough for me.
PowerAMP is the best one I've found.
Format is a non-issue, it'll play owt.
I've used Double-Sync which is ok, but recently installed Winamp & much prefer the features of the homescreen widget & general usability.
