[Closed] Tell me about Kindles

Quite tempted by one. Obviously primarily a reader but sounds ideal for my long summer trips as you can access the web too. I also hear that you can play MP3s but the functionality is not great.
Basically I like the idea of a reader / basic web function (e-mail and weather forecasts) plus music in a cheap package.
Thoughts?

the music player is gaff and isn't included in the cheaper models - get a standalone device for that if you wnat it. the web browsing is very basic and over 3g it doesn't work in a lot of countries

On the basis that all I need web wise abroad is to check mail and forecasts it seemed like a good deal. I had heard that the MP3 player was pretty pants.
