Just heard a story from my work colleague.

Meet his wife at work - got married had 2 kids.
The boss (who is widely regarded as a real pr*ck) asked the husband if the wife was planning to coming back after maternity leave.

Yes
Does she really want to come back?
Yes
Last time - does she really want to come back?
No - she want to be a full time mum for a while.
Tell her to come back.

A few weeks later she was made redundant after 18 years service.
Nowadays the kids are a bit older and she is back part time.

Like buzzbars and icecream.....

fules!

Boss made Mrs come back to work so she'd get huge redundancy payout. Then took her back on.

EDIT: my money is on boss doing Mrs behind friend's back.

Ah, thanks Al.

Doesn't make me warn and fuzzy, that's abuse of trust and tantamount to fraud.

A number of other people from her dept were also made redundent so I don't think there was too dodgy dealing going on. And she was off for 7 years before coming back.

Well it's made my day/week.
