Doing a bit of research for what will be a rather important trip to France next year in July.
One of these teardrop jobbies looks like it will do the job nicely for me, mrs deadly and the pooch. But they're a bit pricey 😯 for what they are. I'm seeing a lot of ads for plans to build one oneself - obviously, I'd shell out for a pre-made chassis. I would need to find somewhere to build one I guess. But I have carpentry skills and kit - how difficult would it be?
Or are they just a cumbersome way of carrying a tent around?

T4chippy (Keith) on there is a mate of mine, he builds nice stuff.
He's been setting up in business to make these fir a while and his prices are reasonable.
Worth giving him a shout if you wanted to build one yourself as he is a nice bloke and would happily give advice, supply bits etc etc.
I've been the process of looking at the cheap ones starting at 1.5k and slowly adding things until I get to something like a small proper sized caravan, I think I'd prefer a small caravan from an overall practical pov.

You could strip it down to the chassis and rebuild it using all the gear that it comes with.. cooker, fridge, water heater etc...
