Just ordered a new pc that comes with 8.1, love win 7 but hear so many horror stories about 8 ... any good things ?
I'm trying the free w10 at the moment. Supposedly just 8.2 really.
I like it. Works better with things like my network printer than w7 does.
It's very quick to load but that may just be the clean installation I suppose.
Addit: My mum & dad have 8.1 on a touchscreen thingy and that's great too - I think most of the whining relates to non-touchy screens (my PC is a standard desktop though and W10, no problem)
My daughter has 8.1 on her laptop and has had no issues whatsoever with it.
I moved to an 8.1 laptop from Win7 recently. I spent the first couple of hours swearing at the screen, but once I got my head around it, I really started to like it. Nice integration to OneDrive. Much faster boot speed.
