In the market for a new TV in the Boxing Day sales.
48 to 50" but what jargon do I need look for to be future proof for the next few months?

Any links to what model you recommend would be useful.
Can you get much for £400ish?

You're buying a 50" TV and you want it to be future proof for the next few months?

I'd love a new TV but our aging Plasma refuses to die,

Probably just as well as I don't think the modern tv's can hold a candle to its picture. Maybe an OLED can but they're too large and Spenny for out house or wallet.

I got a 49" Hisense couple of weeks ago, very pleased with it.

We have a 10 year old Samsung and a 6 year old Sony. Both going strong and both do the job well.

I bought this a couple of week ago and it’s fantastic, but paid £499

I’d rather like a 4K led telly that wasn’t “smart”. To be honest, I’m not even all that bothered about speakers; I have those already.

All I’m going to do is plug in my Apple TV and use that for everything, anyway.
