Last week it was Graz this week it is here... another work potential, i may well be moving there for work so would like to know a bit more about the city/area!!! and i assume you lot being bikers will be able to tell me about the biking there? ๐
comparisons between the two... graz/ljubljana even better if anyone has been to both!
cheers guys
Ljubljana is one of my favourite cities. Good biking in the forests around. It's clean, stylist, compact, most young people speak English and it has the Adriatic down the road.

sounds good! that photo is very nice, ive been looking on google images at photos too.
the bike park/ski resort sounds good, proximity seems to be within an hour!!! how many citys have that?!
I would be taking a Demo 7 and a Yeti ASR with me I would think...
I hate cities, but ljubljana is pretty nice and not far from some special riding.
Laibach are from Slovenia and are founder-members of the Neue Slowenische Kunst art movement.
They are best known for their warped and slightly macabre cover versions of popular songs...
If it produces stuff like that, then it must be an interesting place. ๐
Altogether now:
When we all give the power
We all give the best
Every minute in the hour
We don't think about the rest
And we all get the power
We all get the best
When everyone gives everything
Then everyone everything will get
Life is life!
Life is life
When we all feel the power
Life is life
When we all feel the pain
Life is life
It's the feeling of the people
Life is life
It is the feeling of the land.
When we all give the power
We all give the best
Every minute in the hour
We don't think about the rest
And everyone gives everything
And every soul everyone will feel
Life is life!
And we're all glad it's over
We thought it would last
Every minute of the future
Is a memory of the past
Coz' we gave all the power
We gave all the best
And everyone lost everything
And perished with the rest.
Life is life!
I work in Ljubljana and live in another town nearby.
As others have said, there are some bike parks fairly close, one just opened like 30 mins away by car (Krvavec, also Javornik and Kranjska Gora and some others further away).
There are also quite a few hills that you can ride to from city itself or are a short car ride away. Note that laws regarding riding in nature are quite prohibitive. There are also a lot of people going to nearby hills on foot, try to avoid these routes.
There are are lot of riders around here, local forum is tabla.mtb.si, feel free to ask there for more info. I would also be glad to show you around local hills. Some group rides are organized as well (either friends - privately or by LBS), lots of possibilities.
that's not a warped cover version
THIS is a warped cover version:
they are an ever so slightly odd band to see live, the 'guitarist' was dressed as a giant tomato for a start
excellent someone who lives there! i shall definitely be in touch
What's that got to do with Slovenia and Ljubljana though?
are you somehow confusing the contents of this forum with relevance?
Maybe.
