[Closed] Talk to me about Geneva/Lyon ish area

In an attempt to get a cheap holiday sorted this summer we're staying with the girlfriends parents for a week (some village between Lyon and Dijon).

We want a few days to ourselves first, so are looking at flying into Geneva (most convenient and cheapest option for us) and heading somewhere for a few days.

Does anyone have any tips? I've always been interested in the walker's Haute route, so a stage of that could be an option. Just after a relaxed few days walking or (easy) biking with views, staying somewhere pretty that isn't bursting with other tourists like myself 😉
