OK, so Cheesy Towers has been getting very steamy of late and I need to keep on top of it. Does anybody have any experience of dehumidifiers? Any recommendations for a good one?

Ebac (?) are a leading brand and we had one for years. It made a big difference when on and you will be amazed at the amount of water they can pull out of the air.

Recommended if you've got a bit of a damp problem

Don't they use a shedload of electric? Admittedly if you have a problem one will do the job. Just thought I'd give you a heads up that it use a lot of power.

Sorting out the airflow in your house first might reduce your problem.

Parents used one in their old Georgian house due to a damp problem in the living room before biting the bullet and getting a damp-proof course fitted.

Made a massive difference.

They now run it in the bathroom for drying washing hung up - they call it a budget tumble drier 🙂

Cheers, Rich

Ah, I see you've found the budget washing machine! 😉

(FWIW, we've never had, or needed, a tumbe drier, or dishwasher...)

OK, thanks for replies so far. Air flow is OK most of the time, but sometimes things get steamed up and there's a few places behind cabinets that get a bit damp, hence I reckon a bit of help should sort things out
