That's not a euphemism 😀

Standing in the workshop all day, I always end up with sore feet - perhaps hiking or work boots aren't the best footwear. Are there any really comfy work boots, would trainers be better, or should I just stop whining?

Neoprene lined crocs.

What I used to wear in the Ski Service workshop.

Ugly, but like standing around on clouds.

Ben, We've got a thick wide plank of wood in front of the jig, back when this place was making lots of frames they'd be someone on their feet brazing all day. They came up with this solution.

That's the same one I've seen in a few boxing gyms; skipping rope is done on wood.

Cement flooring does your knees and feet in.

I use Altberg boots, got a few pairs for different temperatures, insoles as well.

Yeah, pretty much what I meant

The wood is a good shout though if it's mostly standing still, makes a big difference.

Another vote for DM's, they will take a month to bed in and will not last as long as others , but they are comfortable, check out the steel toe work version the insole to those are very good

Hi-Tec Figaro @ £50.

Bought mine for £30 at TKMaxx.

They come in many colours and very comfortable.

Do check all the reviews first to see if they are to your liking.

I find I can stay on my feet longer with boots on.

There are a few trainer type boots available, maybe boxing boots?

look for tabbing boots, or something similar.

Anti fatigue mat.

It's what they are actually designed for. Or you could bodge something else as an answer, for that is the stw way.

fair enough, I think that's probably the best idea, but they didn't have them things in the 70s, wood's been around a bit longer, and you can find wood anywhere, often for free.

I've got an anti-vibration mat in the garage in front of my workbench. it was a couple of quid from b&q and is meant for standing a washing machine on. Much more comfortable than the concrete floor.
