still finding new stuff on this forum all the time. it was only yesterday that i discovered that clicking the 'freshness' link took you to the end of the thread 🙂
but tags........never really been sure what theyre for. am i right in thinking its just a way to enable people to do a search on 'singlespeed' say, and then get a list of every thread with a singlespeed tab?
if thats the case, whats wrong with just doing a 'search' on 'singlespeed'? im not sure what the difference is.
and yes, ive seen all the amusing tags that people can put up, but youre not going to search for a thread on those are you? are you???
am i missing something, or is that all there is to them?
(feel free to put 'thick t*sser' in the tags on this thread should you so wish 🙂
I've never understood them. Don't know how to use them, or what benefit they are. I too would like an explanation, not in geekspeek.
Think a lot of people post them to say stuff they ain't got the balls to say in a post...
Try:
http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/tags/scotland
Gives you a much wider range of threads to do with Scotland - not just those that have the word 'Scotland' in them.
hmmm spose. pretty much as i thought then.
maybe being thick again here, but i cant see where you would search tags from. i can see a list of hot tags at bottom of forum, but how would i search for a tag that isnt 'hot'? or does the search facility search titles [i]and[/i] tags?

But you do. There's photographic proof...... 😉

Seconded. Still no-one has said how to use them. Perhaps no-one does. Perhaps it's just for the willy wavers when posting?

Clue is in the link:
http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/tags/scotland
so
http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/tags/ [add you favourite keyword here]
I had to have this explained to me (see the sticky on tags). I know it's not very intuitive.
Click on the list of tags at the top of a thread also works. for example click on 'tosser' and you get:
http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/tags/tosser
