Looking for somewhere to take the family at Easter. My wife spotted what looks like a great deal on accommodation in Northern Switzerland, but I'm a bit worried that none of the facilities will be open and the weather will be crap. Any experiences?

Took family stoner to Morzine in early May once (a stop over on a longer trip) and it was v v dead in between the sports seasons. Not a lot open - although the pool etc was year round. Rode on the last dregs of the winter snow down from Avoriaz. Wouldnt do it again before late June. You may have better luck in CH.

Had a feeling that might have been the case. What was the weather like?

weather was quite good actually. lets see if I can find some pics....

Did a fair bit of walking with Jr in the trolley while Mrs S went for runs. And then I took the bike out on some low level routes using IGN maps.

19th May 2008 just below Avoriaz

Thanks Stoner. It looks like the sort of thing that I'd enjoy, but Mrs and junior Bols, might be a bit disappointed by the lack of action and/or heat. The question now is do I go with the flow and get it booked, or do the selfless thing and tell them it might not be quite what they're hoping for..?

do some more research into what activites are def open first. CH may be better set up for year round activites than the french ski/vtt centres.
