Good luck fella. I've been thinking of doing one after a similar gap so will be interested to hear how you get on.

Didn't quite drown and wasn't last, so happy. Had bad calf cramp in the swim so had to hang onto a kayak a couple of times to stretch it, so slow swim, but it's over with - onto the next one!

I used a tesco El Cheapo shorty wetsuit that was too tight and had an easily broken zip, which funny enough broke....

In another day of firsts went with the gf on one of her ridiculously long road rides, and did my first 100km ride. 4hours 20mins, that's not bad is it? on a Chameleon with slicks.

Sore bum now though 😥 😆

22 years? Wow that's a long time, I've been doing my first triathlon for 14 years only, I hope to finish the run sometime early next year

Well I averaged 331W for my threshold intervals on Friday as opposed to 306W previously, and weighed 82kg. Woot.

Every time I've tried to do threshold workouts I've collapsed after 5 mins or so, so the intervals went 340, 330, 280, 270.... This time I maintained the effort, first time in forever.

I think it's watching the TdF that did it.

Emsz - that's 331W of power generated for the duration of each interval.

Hehe.. well I'm feeling good at the moment so I think I can handle it... If I get scared I'll just watch videos of HTC winning stages before hand to get psyched up 🙂

Watt. So your light bulbs will be 60 watts or nowadays 11 watts, my power output was 331 watts for a few minutes. Enough to power 30 low energy light bulbs 🙂

Or, to put it in perspective, a basic Ford Focus is 78,000 watts, and a learner motorbike has 11,000 watts for as long as you like.
