The wife has instructed me that when I change the bedding today, I swap the summer duvet for the medium weight one.

Also, the central heating actually kicked in the other morning. It's not done that for a long long time.

"Summer has officially ended"

Not until the 21st September it hasn't.

Anyway, August has been crap for the past couple of years. Early Summer and Autumn are where it's at these days.

I've just come back from a month in and around Byron Bay. Even the winter there is better than the summer here and the waves bear no comparison.

I've just moved from Edinburgh to Delaware. It's 29 over here, so I feel I'm getting the summers I've been cheated out of over the last few years 🙂

Our brief affair with Summer is over. She reaches for her coat and dances south. But before she leaves I hope she stops and turns to smile upon us one last time.

What on Earth are you talking about? Here in the South, it's been ok really. Bit wet this last week, but generally not too bad.

Little bit chilly earlier today, but should be warming up a bit now.

47 degrees here today. Flying home next Monday for a fortnight, sounds like I'm going to need a thick jacket. 🙁

Never mind. Autumn has it's joys. The leaves change colour. The mornings are bracing, sometimes misty and romantic. The trails begin to empty of fair-weather bikers. The sunsets are glorious.

Cheer up, it'll soon be Winterval.
