Suggestions for a RAB gilet with a hole

Had a bit of a feather escaping issue, where one got pulled, so made the hole bigger, then all the little buggers try and follow. Snipped off with scissors to try and get the rest back inside and caught the material.

I've mostly stopped the mass exodus with some clear nail varnish top coat, but it looks a bit shit.

Not overly fussed as it's a few years old, but any suggestions for a patch? Thinking the material won't hold up too well to stitching - will anything stick to this?

You're not far from Rab HQ if they still do repairs, as do Alpkit.

I've always used Tenacious Tape on stuff like that before.
Works well.

+1 on tenacious tape or spinnaker tape if you want to vaguely hide the repair.

Spinnaker repair tape
A bit pricey, but it'll do the job.

Pull the feather back inside the jacket from the inside before you apply the patch. You'll be able to align your hand roughly where it is and pull the feather back through into the baffle

Ripstop tape is common to fix kites. I make the hole slightly longer, patch from the inside and then outside if needed. Gorilla tape also works if you can't find ripstop tape.

Gorilla tape, if you aren't too fussed about appearances.

I used Rab repair service a couple of years ago, couldn’t fault them, reasonable price too!

You can get spinnaker tape in wee round patches, 10 for a couple of quid.

No doubt you'll find it useful. Yachting as a new hobby for 2023?

GearAid (McNett) does little self-adhesive patches designed for just this sort of thing and available in cute little shapes like stars, teardrops, deer, bears etc, if you're that way inclined. I've used them on several insulated jackets, they've survived use and laundry just fine. Sold on amazon and elsewhere:

My daughter informs me that in the climbing community a gilet is not complete until it has a duct tape patch on it. So that is what my Alpkit gilet has been sporting for the last two years. It does help that I bought a gilet that is pretty much the colour of duct tape.

Duck tape FTW. Go to the climbing wall and some jackets are more tape than jacket.

Any down type jacket cannot be called outdoor clothing until repaired with gaffer tape. Without a gaffer tape repair, it is just fashion clothing.
