Have decided to take the jump and start my own business, just need a name for it and everything I come up with is either crap or corny.

Quite aptly for the happenings at STW over the weekend, the main core of the business will be security ground anchors/locks/chains for motor bikes, mountain bikes and a variety of other 'desirables' around the home.

Have come up with the likes of Secur-It etc but it just sounds so naff - am hoping that someone can come up with a name that gets across the message the service's we provide, but something that will get people to sit up and take notice.

Any suggestions??

Getting a cool sounding unique name is hard as most of the simple ones are taken by somebody else. You don't really want someone out there doing a similar job with a similar URL. I'd go with 'XXX security' or 'XXX security products' where XXX is a something abstract like aardvanrk (although that particular one is already taken) or maybe a location.

EDIT: I really like chunky monkey chains, although there already is a company called chunky monkey that makes chains just to prove my first point 🙂

Rudebwoy - it's far and away the favourite at the moment! All the other Lockdown names are either foreign or some kind of security service's and not really in my product range.

to be slightly serious and a bit down about it..
I had my bikes that were attached to big chains and ground anchors stripped of parts. Forks, wheels, seatpost and brakes etc. left the frames that were securely attached to the floor..

I'll be looking for something more than a ground anchor to secure the bikes to in future..

I do however have a bit of an idea for something..

Not read any suggestions yet but be sure to check that the name you decide on is available as a URL - you don't want to end up with a crap URL that no-one can remember.
