Sub-£100 active speakers for PC

Looking for something better than the £10 usb-powered things I have at work. Will be primarily for video call/meeting plus some internet radio/Spotify to keep the lab morale up etc. but I guess the nightshift guys will appreciate the improved Netflix experience too. Don't mind spending a bit because they'll be mine to take away as required.

I've seen the Presonus E3.5 for £76 on eBay, just wondered if there was anything better out there for less than £100. Needs to be active speakers as we simply don't have the desk space for separate amp and cables and passive speakers.

Always been very happy with my Creative T20s
I guess Creative must be, too, as they don't appear to have changed them in anyway in the many years since I bought mine! Although only Creative actually claim to have any stock, so this may turn out to be a false lead...

Bose companion 20 are excellent. Used mine for years until I moved to a dedicated desk and hifi in the home office post lockdown. Buy used at about your budget. Silver too - if that matters.

I didn't realise Creative were still going.

I've got 3.1 parts of a Creative 5.1 system on my desk (there's nowhere sensible to put the surrounds). I inherited it from my ex and it's spent most of its life in a cupboard, so it's probably pushing 20 years old. It is surprisingly good for diddy little speakers, I'd happily buy it again.

I've had the Creative Pebble plus 2.1 speakers for 2 years and they've been great. Great sound quality for the price, subwoofer makes a big difference.

£34.99 on Amazon.

There's an absolute raft of Creative speakers on CeX, including the aforementioned T20s.

I really don’t think you’ll do better than these

Edifier R1280T Powered Bookshelf Speakers - 2.0 Active Near Field Monitors - Studio Monitor Speaker - Wooden Enclosure - 42 Watts RMS https://amzn.eu/d/9kQRX7m

Loads of reviews online

In my experience those 2.1 systems with tiny satellites aren’t all that

Oh and to be clear I have a pair of Edifiers on my pc and think they are fab

I bought some tannoy reveals from ebay about a year back for £100.

They're very good.

Bluetooth any good? My JBL flip was sub 100, is good for what it is and has the portability / waterproof bonus too.

Edifier is probably the best choice if you want to use all your budget.
I've been using a pair of creative T20's for donkeys years and been very happy with them, in that even after all this time I can't really justify replacing them unless they get broken.

Although I suspect the Edifier would be a little better - but then they cost a little bit more too.

For anyone reading on a tight budget, those second hand 'A-grade' T20's on CeX for £35 I'd hazard are pretty much unbeatable VFM.
