hi guys and girls,
The predicament is that Mrs turin has entered the berlin marathon for this year and has "surprised" by booking me in as support team without mentioning it till tonight. Its on the 30th of September.
However I had arranged to work that day and its not easy at all to get out of it lots of other people booked into being involved. I can and i may do this but ive been desperately trying to find a way from Edinburgh from 18-30 on the 29th.
I can get to szczeni (sp) in poland or heathrow and thats about it.
Does anybody have any suggestions. Id be most grateful as would Mrs T she has worked her ass off for this run and for some reason unbeknown to me wants me to be ther to support her 😆

Can you really not take a hint? If she really wanted you there she would have told you before now. She is setting it up so that you can't make it and she can invite someone else without you getting suspicious.

Have you looked at flights from Newcastle ? That's less than 2 hours drive if you get a good run.

1720 from Newcastle on KLM via Amsterdam in order to get there on that day
BA - Edinburgh -> Heathrow -> Berlin.

Have you been on expedia where it lets you select nearby airports? Useful for this kind of thing.
Hmm... BA flights to Berlin tend to get there at about 9pm UK time, so you'd have to leave Edinburgh at about 3.
EasyJet fly from Manchester - in fact, I'm surprised they don't fly from Edinburgh or Glasgow.
See - I reckon I've been around enough women for long enough to try and translate this into bloke speak. She's saying that you can come if you can find a flight, but she'd prefer (hopes to god that you cant find one it) if you didn't.
Bloke response should be to look for a flight for two minutes or less then say "I'd love to come but cant find a flight - you should have mentioned it earlier".
Then save the money you would have used for the flight and spend it on coke and hookers.

I had thought about driving but i thnk id need the coke that glupton mentions to see me through!
If i got ba to alter their schedule by 40 minutes i could get to amsterdam and then get a train from there.

I would be quite tempted to see the driving as a challenge. Much of it's on Autobahn. How fast does your car go? 🙂

You'll need to be able to do about 150mph to keep up in the outside lane when the reps hit the roads.
Do you have to be there on the 29th, or would early on the 30th do? You could fly Edinburgh to Frankfurt, then get the night train to Berlin (arrives 07:19).
uber early on the 30th would work, but from what i see teh flight takes off at 18-30 on the saturday which i wouldnt make.

It will be expensive one way, as they've got to get the car back.
Taxi would be cheaper.
The autobahn goes straight to Berlin as its one of the first ever built, when Stettin was German.
