I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself 4 days post-surgery and am in need of a cheering up. You lot seem to be good at that!

Got to wait for it to heal properly before we'll know if the surgery has worked. Had a tendon release in the elbow (if it doesn't help then I'm back to the chronic pain syndrome diagnosis...). This scar'll be a lot smaller than the first one, not very impressed with anaesthetist who said I wouldn't need post-op pain relief as it shouldn't be sore. He lied!

Am a bit wary about moving too much in case I do more damage but as of today I am allowed to go sling free!

So please make me smile...!

A penguin went into a bar and said to the bartender "Have you seen my father?"

The bartender said "Don't know, what does he look like?"

(Get well soon)
(I'm not very good at jokes)

If you come up with a crash story that would be a great pic for the "old blokes (blokesses?) who should know better" feature in one of the uk mags, i forget which

I swear most of those stories are made up, I mean come on "i'm 41 and overweight and doing this to get away from the kids but honestly what happened was I nailed the 360 but on the second tabletop I overshot to flat and went over the bars. Honest it wasnt from falling over in the pub carpark".

By the way I am 41 and overweight and ride to get away from the kids. I also have bought Rapha so thats the trifecta

Good luck with the recovery

Apparently half an hour of video watching isn't good for an iPhone battery.

Thanks though - feeling better already!

I've got a half decent crash story...

I had elbow release surgery a couple of years ago. Worked a treat. Not quite totally pain free, not quite as strong as before, but pretty much there.

Best decision I made.

Not funny, but hope it helps.

Th funny bit was when the surgeons were waving an arm around at the other side of the screen and I thought they were operating on someone else at the same time!

becky - you poor thing, this seems to have been going on for so long. 🙁 Fingers crossed that this is the end and you'll soon be riding your bike again. Hang in there. 🙂

You may find this amusing:

Thanks Mary - yes, that was a terribly odd experience! Glad it helped you - really hope it does the job for me too, surgeon reckoned it was 50:50!

Cheers CG. It's certainly dragged on, had to fight for treatment (previous consultant dismissed it) so there was a bit of a wait! Tractors! 😛
