A local news service (well news reporting system on Facebook that gets travel updates) last night said that trains would be affected around Durham due to the high winds making crossing the viaduct at Durham difficult/dangerous

We're getting battered here in Alnwick but the BBC seem more concerned about the Highlands where hardly anybody lives getting speeds of over 100mph
