I was up at 04.30 securing the loose bits in the garden after a mighty wind had sprung up during the night. When I poised to marvel at the night sky I spotted an aircraft or maybe the ISS? Then another and another and over half an hour there was a continual line of (aircraft?) lights. They were very high following line astern heading approx. 130°. Could have been leaving the coast above Bury Head but roughly in that area. I had a look on live aircraft movements and nothing.
I assume military aircraft as number too great for commercial or could have been the rest of Europe flying in PPE?

Yep, Elon. I counted 42 going over Aldeburgh one morning before work a few months back until I lost count. Saw them over home in Gloucestershire last week and the line is beginning to break up, not so evenly spaced and some off to one side. I can see why astronomers are annoyed but it's absolutely mesmerising to watch them.
