Have booked a train ticket for work which requires a cross-London journey. This is not something I’ve done in a very long time, so is the ticket valid on the tube, or how would I find out?

Thanks!

Generally yes.

"If your journey involves travelling via or across London to connect with another National Rail service, your ticket should include the cost of transfer on London Underground, DLR, Thameslink or Elizabeth line services between the relevant stations.

Your ticket will be marked with a cross ( + ) sign."

Blurb here for finer details.

There are some weird exceptions around chosen routes and so forth though.

Yes, your ticket should cover you across London, but you may need to use the manned entrance gates at the Tube.
