Off to Nottingham centre parcs next weekend to see my brother and his kids.

We can either go onto the centre parcs site and do stuff on there, but as they'll have been there a week already was wondering what things there might be to see / do off site in case they are sick of it and fancy a day somewhere else! Kids are 4 & 8.

Kids will never tire of Center Parcs IMO. Ours love it. Clumber Park with the bikes and take a BBQ (they have a dedicated area now). Same in Sherwood Pines next door. Cresswell Crags near Worksop. Just a few.

Nearby you have; Newstead Abbey, Rufford Abbey and Sherwood Forest, the Major Oak, Sherwood Pines.

Wheelgate adventure park is like a little kids theme park, it is opposite White Post farm, also good for small kids. not too far a drive from you.

Nottingham city centre has the free beach in the Market Square at the moment, there are a few fair rides there too. Nottingham castle, not much to write home about but maybe worth a quick visit.

National Space Centre in Leicester. Where else can you have lunch under a rocket? My son had his 8th birthday party there and it was fantastic.

thanks everyone, i'l have a look at all those possibilities. Space centre sounds good, the 8 year old is mad keen on rockets and things.

Twinlakes at Melton is really good for younger kids, a fun park where you spend the day playing, not queuing. Loads to do, has a bit of a 'home made' feel about it, but tons to do. You could easily spend a full day there.
