I need to build an internal stud wall set of rooms - the problem is I hate the faff of hanging and messing with doors.

My googlefoo is lacking this afternoon - surely someone in this day and age does a pre assembled/complete/doorset/drop in pre hung door with hinges and latch thats ready to go in a stud wall???? Finished appearance isnt important.

there are these available at B&Q;
http://www.diy.com/departments/easy-fit-panelled-pre-painted-internal-door-kit-for-opening-sizes-w683-695mm-h1988-1996mm-d35mm/1016052_BQ.prd?icamp=recs&rrec=true

Not sure if anyone has used them? or has any other ideas?

we call them pre-hung doors this side of the pond.
Available in our big box stores for either 2x4 or 2x6 framing. allows for 1/2 drywall too allowing door trim to be installed flush.

I've just finished fitting eight frames and doors in a loft conversion, a ball ache of the highest order, a laser level makes things a bit easier.
Are the pre hung frames the correct width? as i had to rip down my frames to 120mm to fit the studding as this is not a standard width.

Hearing the phrase 'stud wall' just makes me think 'glory hole'...

(How do you end up at 120mm, anyway?)

Pre-hung door sets are not really commonly available for the UK DIY market. They tend to be specially ordered for large developments and the like.

Edit: You might be able to find someone who can order you these, I think they are made to order though so might have a large minimum quantity.

ask the local builders merchant or joiners shop to hang a standard door into a lining for you?

we used to do this to save time on site when doing overnight shopfitting.

and a 6ft level makes fitting linings easy. but using lasers means you can charge more 🙂
