[Closed] Stuck screw-in lightbulb

My kitchen has recessed screw-in lightbulbs and one of them blew the other day but won't screw out.
It turns so far and then stops. Because it's recessed, I can only get a grip on a very small amount of the glass so can't get any more force on it.
Smashing the bulb wouldn't help as I still need something to grip to unscrew the main bit of the bulb.

I can't be the first person to have this problem...Any ideas...?

You can buy a tool esp. for this. Its a suction cap, like a sat nav windscreen thingy, with a handle that locks in position that allows you to get the leverage on it.

Is it a halogen bulb. If so the do twist about 30 degrees and then pull out.

If it does break, use a potato but remove the fuse first.

Hate to ask the obvious, but are you sure It's a screw and not a bayonet fitting?

Smash the bulb, turn the screw bit with a pair of pliers, that's worked for me. You'll obviously want to switch the circuit off

+1 If all else fails

Bur really be sure the circuit is off.

For flat surfaced bulbs ( eg spotlights) I have managed to superglue something to the bulb to get extra leverage.

Put a marigold on your hand, push on the bulb with your fingers and twist your wrist in a circular motion to remove.
