Anyone here go and watch it?
I thought I'd give him a second chance after watching his last gig but that's it, I've pulled the plug on him. 😕
I saw him in Northampton last week. Personally I thought he was brilliant but then I am a bit of a fan.
Did you not like his show 'Carpet Remnant World'?
I'm a fan but last night he just ended up rambling on and I was starting to switch off.
Carpet Remnant World was ok, thought the 1st half started slow but picked up in the second half.
He's a bit Marmite but I did like the sketch he did about Richard Hammond (saw it on youtube).
I thought his name was spelled Stuart Leeh... maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

The Richard Hammond one is a good one.
Stewart Lee is class. Admittedly an acquired taste and one that I have only achieved by watching all his stuff. Some of the early gigs in Welsh pubs etc are just brilliant.
The rambling is part of the act - if you watch enough you get in to the flow of it. Its entirely intentional.
Enjoyed Carpet Remnant World which I unfortunately missed live (was recorded in Sheffield as well).
As for Stuart Lee - never heard of him. Has he been on Mock the Week or anything?
..and Trigger...makes a face.

Either way, you knew who I meant.
My missus is also a big fan of his and even she said he went on a bit, I know it's part of the act but we did get rather bored.
I think he is easily the best I've ever seen but everyone's taste is different. He does go off on one now and then but I quite like that.
His style is weird. Barely funny material, delivered badly, for a very long time.
Never got him on TV, loved Carpet Remnant World. Went up in my estimations. He is a good mix of observant and sharp and isn't afraid to get the audience thinking.
He creates an incredible divide with audiences. It's interesting to see how some people take his comments on face value and laugh where as most people, correctly, understand the irony and also laugh but for entirely different reasons.
Its basically a case of some people going 'oh good, he's having a pop at Muslims again Hahaha!' and others, at the same time going 'Oh good, he's mocking the BNP again hahaha!'. I enjoy the unease he creates.
I particularly enjoyed his nostalgic "preference" for the IRA over al qaeda. Very funny.
Also, "....it'd be no good doing a charity cycle ride with the Mock the Week group as we'd have to stop every 100yds to spit at someone with Down's Syndrome"
“I am sick of reading on Daily Mail message boards that I am 'one of these foul-mouthed modern comedians' when I am absolutely not. Honestly, who are these c***s?”

Yeah, absolutely brilliant bit of writing I thought.
Or telling a pub in rural Wales that if Jesus were real he would have visted a'place like this, a simple town with simple folk...'.
