Watering the raised beds last night and I saw a clippy thing you attach your keys to your belt with. Thought I'd dropped my keys ,picked it up but it was a full metal dog lead with leather collar.
This was buried in the beds near our back door.
What animal is going to find a dog lead, think that's nice and bury it for later?
Fox could but why?
Magpie would like the shiny bit but could he lift it and bury it?

I think that you're following a lead right there

Maybe you'll feel a collar 😉

Fido-n't know how it got there. Have you seen any suspicious looking cats around recently?

It's a strange tail. I might go for a little poodle on the bike to think about it.

The plot thickens.
I put the bath mat through the washing machine and hung it on an airer to dry overnight.
The next morning the mat was half buried where the dog chain was.
Good luck with your bath mat puns!
