I'm getting, on average, one a day now. It was about 2 a week until the last month or so, but they've stepped up in quantity noticeably. I've just counted 38 in the last 30 days on my call log. I've answered a few and its ambulance chasers, and I know where they got my number: a minor RTA insurance claim last year.
I've registered my number on the Telephone Preference Service, but a) Does it work for mobiles? and b) I reckon they'll ignore it.
So, is there any other way of stopping them? I'm not changing a number I've had for 10+ years.
And seriously, if I got VERY VERY abusive, would I be put on a blacklist of some sort? That could be fun for a while.....

I hardly get them from humans any more, so I can't even have a rant!
Various styles of recorded messages. About 2 a day. Always 1 at tea time!

On a landline then a Trucall device makes all that go away.

That leaves you out of pocket of course but I doubt there's a free way of getting shot of 'em.

tps does work if they're uk based. takes a little while to work through, but in my recent experience at work, cold sales calls finished as soon as i mentioned it, with an apology and a mention of updating their database.

I've sounded an air horn down the phone to them in the past.
