ooh, I had one of those on my back.
The doctor did the initial cutting and squeezing and then said;
'I'll leave it open to drain'
for about a week my wife had to change a dressing twice a day and see a sight not dissimilar to that. Now I know what she saw.

Friend of mine had one on his, wait for it, perineum! Yes, that lovely little bit of real estate between your ball bag and your a-hole. He had to have it, ahem, lanced by a doctor. It was caused by an ingrown hair follicle brought about by a lot of bike riding.
I'm not sure what must have been worse; the pain of having it lanced or the ignominy of the position he must have had to adopt to allow the doctor access in the first place.

I watched a boil removed while eating my sandwich in Casualty as I was shadowing a doctor prior to med school. Amazing how much puss/neutrophills were in there.
I mean this guys neck had so much puss! Amazing. Must have been a dodgy infection or long term growth of a hair etc.
They should have worn gloves and glasses...off to eat now yum!

I had one of those in a similar spot, though not as enormous. I squeezed mine until it went with a loud "pop" and squirted me in the face with a dairylea like substance 😕
It stinks too, most unpleasant. Mine is growing back as we speak. I might give it a name this time!
