Seems he's been too busy getting pied up to refresh his tired, ageing, embarrassing and smarmy format. at least 10 years too late coming IMHO

On the same day that Scott Mills announces he's leaving his Radio 1 afternoon show after the summer.

Coincidence?

Can't say as I disagree with you. He's not unlistenable as a presenter but for a supposedly prime-time show the format is dire. Long overdue putting out to pasture. "Serious Jockin' (no G)" sounds like your grandad's heard of bantz and wants to appear cool.

Coincidence?

Not at all, if you read the article.

Guilty as charged.

But I do like Scott Mills and Chris Stark. Does this mean I finally (at 52) need to admit defeat and defect to Radio 2. Feels like failure...

@cougar thanks, didn't read that in the voice of Hubert J. Farnsworth. At all.

Couldn't agree more. How the BBC allowed this to carry on for so long is beyond me.
And as for the Friday 'jockin' rubbish that really winds me up.
I've avoided listening to this for years.

He’d become a parody of himself of as a washed-up, end-of-pier nightclub DJ from 1983…good riddance

Is not the parody part of the act like Tony Blackburn? Still awful , especially Friday afternoons and Love songs.
