Anyone used this before? Seem to be some of the bigger insurers getting involved e.g. Admiral, and the prices [s]don't look too bad[/s] are not as bad as I was expecting - £110 for 12 weeks fully comp cover, which works out about the same pro rata as if I add her to my own policy. I like the idea of my own insurance being unaffected if the learner has to make a claim.

We used this kind of learner only insurance for both our kids. Worked out cheaper than adding them to our policies. Can't remember who we used and never had to claim but it was certainly the cheapest option for us.

Just seems odd that something which seems a much better option isn't loads more expensive!

Marmalade are the people to speak to.

Used them last year to provide cover when my 17 YO son was learning to drive.

Also looking at this for my 17 year old. Wouldn’t even give us a price to add him on to mine or the wife’s policies!

Evidently the price rockets once they've passed - which makes sense. Not that I care about that, once she's passed she can pay for insurance if she wants to use it! #welcometotherealworld

We used DayInsure for my eldest last year. Cost about £50/month to drive our 1.6L Golf (which we're unable to insure her for now she's passed).
Policy bolts on in addition to your usual insurance but you don't get affected in the event of a claim.
