Well it says "Vespa and Italian Scooters". And since Lambrettas are "Italian scooters" it isn't factually incorrect. But I get the point.

Maybe its got something to do with the fact that the Lambretta clothing company probably wouldn't be too happy with the lambretta name emblazened on a £3 t shirt @ Asda??

So you are not going to buy a 6 quid t-shirt because the writing and picture are accurate. Just not the accurate you would like?
I thought I could be picky at times but now I realise I am quite normal 🙂

Well, thanks for that, I'll certainly take your considered opinions on board when considering my options in the future.

it's just a bit of a lame thread. Might have worked if anyone here knew anything about mopeds. Or cared.

Do Vespas have a backpedal gear?

3) Posting it on here

That's right, I'm not. Just like I wouldn't wear a Moto-Guzzi T Shirt with a picture of a Laverda on it, or a Clash T shirt with a picture of the 'Pistols.

Jesus, you lot are hard work at times........

Eggsaccerly!

Was gonna post something similar but involving Capri's and Cavaliers but the thought of being shot down in flames for wanting a T shirt with a capri on it was too much for be to take! 😳

It's a generic Italian scooter on a "fashion" tee shirt. No one (apart from you, clearly) gives a shit

I don't know Spanner is getting stick over this....... pointing out that a picture of a Vespa would have been more appropriate is perfectly reasonable comment imo. And I'm not sure that he deserves to be accused of having 'failed in life' because of it....sounds a bit of an over reaction to me.

Having said that, I agree that it's a crap tee shirt - not because of the association with scooters, but because as a general rule, I don't like to advertise stuff on my clothes.

Taking anyone's (let alone mine) comments too seriously at ten past one on a Sunday morning could be classed as a mild over-reaction too I suppose 🙄

If you saw someone walking down the street with a Santa Cruz T shirt on, but said shirt was emblazoned with a picture of, say, an Intense, wouldn't it strike you as a bit odd?

In that case, the majority of the general public would no doubt think the same of you.

Some of us like other things as well as MTB's.
I like scooters and motorbikes.

And a Vespa still isn't a Lambretta, whether you know the difference or not. 🙂

Jesus, so much vitriol about a T shirt. Did everyone have money on Scheck?

I have no idea who you are, but after this thread I've a pretty good idea what you are.
How am I supposed to know how to take your comments?
I might not have much fashion sense, but I've far better manners than you.

i thought the point of the thread was that it was out of stock......if you're that anal about a shirt that clearly states "Vespa's and other italian scooters" having a picture of a Lambretta on it then you need to get out more

No ta, but thanks for the advice!

Maybe I'll stay in and post a fascinating thread about my shaving routine Bobba, or one about the vastly underrated topic of colour matching my calipers, eh Nick?

Hmmn, the Germans didn't really get the whole aesthetic thing with scooters did they? The British ones were even uglier TBH 😀

I think Lambrettas are a beautiful piece of design:
[img] [/img]

Series II's especially:
[img] [/img]

and some Vespas aren't bad either:

I'm obviously in a minority on here though!
What a strange evening.

Scooters are great around London, Paris or Rome.

Rotherham, Bury or Doncaster = you cant pass your Direct access but pretend to be niche

I can believe that no one's spotted that the fern green and flame red of the Italian flag haven't been printed with the correct Pantone colours!
I have a suspicion that they might have used the Mexican flag colours rather than the Italian ones, and if a fat person were to wear it the aspect ration might change enough for it to be a more accurate rendition of the Mexican flag than the Italian one!!!!!!
I like flags, and flags are very important and nice, and you're all sad losers for not realising this.

And yes, I know it says 'out of stock' on the website, but they still have some left at the Radcliffe branch if anyone wants one?!?

Thanks for the T shirt suggestion Hora, a valid contribution as usual. 😀

I'm thinking along IanMunro's lines here - if that red in the flag were any worse, it should be saying "O'Vespas and udder Oirish Shcooters" 🙂

ooh the irony of pointing out other peoples pointless threads while spraffing on about a t-shirt from a supermarket, I am truly burned and will give up my membership of this internet forum.

probably a good bet to get that t-shirt to cover up your shame

So Spanner has gone from being accused of having 'failed in life' to now being accused of being 'an attention seeking whore' ...........and all because he pointed out the irony of a tee shirt with the word "Vespa" having a picture of a Lambretta on it ! LOL ! 😀

I have say though Spanner, you do have a tendency to overreact a tad......I reckon I would have probably shrugged off the comments from the onset. I guess your apparent inability to do so probably contributed to the level of ridicule you received. After all, infantile playground taunting is fairly popular with some on here - if you weren't already aware of that.

Saw a bloke wearing one of these at a petrol station in Keighley today (near the roundabout for the bypass, by the MaccyD's by the leisure centre).

I was going to have a word and get his thoughts on it, but I was in a queue of traffic and didn't want to get out of the van.

I actually saw someone wearing this t-shirt today! Didn't have the heart to tell him what a mistake he had made. 🙂

This was at a meet of about 300 scooter riders too - imagine the shame!
