I agree it is, obviously, but it can be genuinely informative in the same way that an article can - as long as it's honest.

When GCN did a tour of the POC facility in Sweden recently, not only did I quite enjoy it, I got quite a bit from it in terms of understanding the design process. And I don't have any POC gear.

My local rag calls them docutisments, or adverticles or some such similar nonsense. Incredibly, sadly, worryingly, my auto-correct hasn’t flinched at either of those terms.

It may be, but it may not be!  e.g. they may have paid for the space, but not directly controlled the editorial content.

Factory tours etc. are generally interesting and obvious where the slant is, it's the level below where issues arise really and how clear people are about it
