[#13535264]

My rental property has just had its eicr and there's a C3 because a spur has been added onto a spur and it's only used 1.5mm2 cable. Apparently it'll be OK if I add a 13A fused spur where it branches off so the circuit is de-rated to the capacity of the conductor.

It's joined in a surface mounted 2 gang socket so I'm thinking the simplest way may be to replace that with either a single socket and the fused spur or a triple gang box with double socket and spur. But the only thing I can find is cooker sockets which aren't appropriate. Is there anything suitable I could use to do this?

Yeah that's plan B but to fully clear it up means removing other surface mount boxes and making good so probably more work doing it that way.

You need to search for duel pattress, and use a single socket next to the spur. Pro tip, buy two as the first one will explode when you try to take the knock outs out!

If you can't find what you need you build it with a  socket and grid switch plate. Or built ot completey from grid switch modules although personally i think the grid llate sockets modules are a bad idea.

Can’t you just add a single gang surface box next to it with Screwfix unswitched 13a spur code 3524d, or if the cables are too short, replace the double socket with another single so you have two single gang back boxes placed side by side?
