My rental property has just had its eicr and there's a C3 because a spur has been added onto a spur and it's only used 1.5mm2 cable. Apparently it'll be OK if I add a 13A fused spur where it branches off so the circuit is de-rated to the capacity of the conductor.
It's joined in a surface mounted 2 gang socket so I'm thinking the simplest way may be to replace that with either a single socket and the fused spur or a triple gang box with double socket and spur. But the only thing I can find is cooker sockets which aren't appropriate. Is there anything suitable I could use to do this?
just remove the spur off the spur?
Yeah that's plan B but to fully clear it up means removing other surface mount boxes and making good so probably more work doing it that way.
There is a surface patress that takes two.single gang face plates.
Screwfix 8898J...although appears no stock / discontinued. Maybe available elsewhere
