just been watching the three clint ones, forgotten how good they were/are! the sound of the gunshots, the music, just superb!

for me, a few dollars more just edges it over TGTBATU, with fistful trailing third, but theyre all cracking films.

mates recommended jeremiah johnson. dont know if its a spaghetti western or not, but ill give it a go.

any other recommendation?

I like the weirdness of High Plains Drifter but I've never been convinced it's actually any damn good.

TBH I think there's a reason TGTBATU is the one everyone thinks of, maybe it's not the best but it's the... I don't know, most archetypical? The final scene is still amazing, so little actually happens! But it's still breath-takingly exciting.

(also I've got a big emotional/memory connection between the film, and having Ecstasy of Gold blasting out of the PA at Donington...)

Once upon a time, true masterpiece. Few dollars more is also a favorite.

slightly off topic, is Once upon a time in new york worth 4 hours?

plenty to go at there, ill look into them.

question about the other clint films, 2 mules, hang em high etc..... does he still play the cool stranger with no name, the best shot in the west, shooting cigars out of baddies mouths etc, same haunting music... or does he also play the 'bob smith, lowly rancher with wife and kids' type role, totally different to the dollars trilogy.

thanks
