heading down for 1 night tomorrow with my other half, probably near-ish weymouth. does anyone know a good campsite? ideally something small, basic, quiet, near a pub. preferably no caravans or raves. in fact an empty field just for the two of us would be perfect!! 8)

any recommendations?

We've stayed at Sea Barn Farm a couple of times and it's great.

The same people own West Fleet park as well, which is right next door and has a pool and a converted barn which is used as a bar where you can get food. About 5 mins walk from Sea Barn, which is much quieter and nicer imo, with nice views over the Chesil Beach.

Fleet Park is nice too, just more 'lively'.. May be booked up though, so call ahead.

cool thanks, the views look great, hopefully it won't be too busy. i think we'll just wing it and head down, see what takes our fancy!

Stayed at West Fleet last September for a week, it was lovely and not actually that busy then. Food in the barn is fairly basic pub stuff but nice enough. There is a path along the 'coast' of the lagoon which takes you very quickly to some lovely quiet areas too.
