Good mate of mine (and I do mean a good mate of mine, not me!) is currently on a mega-weight-loss "journey" (10 stone gone already) and I'm very proud of him. However he is struggling with clothes because he's running out of things to wear as the weight comes off, and is still not yet able to just buy off the peg (needing 2/3XL or thereabouts I think at the moment). He's having trouble finding stuff like cheap shirts and he's going "cheap" because he knows he'll be "growing out" of them all too soon as his weight loss continues.

Any suggestions for a rich seam of outsized (if that's the term) clothes that he may not have tapped? Apparently eBay and charity shops sound like obvious routes but are very hit and miss he says.

Any help appreciated!

Jacamo used to advertise as being for the larger chaps. No idea on price though.

Good effort by your mate on losing that much weight.

Tesco's sale rail is usually full of xxl clothes. And they can be surprisingly stylish.
The last 2 shirts I got from there just as building clothes are too nice to get messed up, unfortunately.

If he's not too bothered about style then decathlon usually has 3XL t-shirts and jogging bottoms on the rail and 4XL on the website. Cheap as well.

Absolutely right - it has taken a lifestyle change the magnitude of which would blow most peoples' minds I think. His resolve and positivity is inspiring. He has his ups and downs but has eyes on the prize now and good on him I say. My secret goal (well, I've told him now actually) is eventually to go for a bike ride with him. In the past, in his own words, he'd sooner have slammed a dangly part of his anatomy in a car door than ride a bike but I can see him softening to the idea 😉

To everyone else; he seems quite keen on the Decathlon idea, why that never occurred to me before I don't know, I am already a big fan of theirs in the first place!

Many thanks to anyone who has replied (or is going to reply), it is very helpful.

From personal experience, Decathlons sizes in the 2/3XL range are tiny compared to other places. Their stuff is great but not really for the larger amongst us.

I guess worst case he keeps it and wears it in due course when it does fit 😀
