I've got a jbl sb350 at the moment which I'm not too keen on after selling my 5.1 system. Been out shopping today and was quite tempted by the Bose solo soundbars for about £180 then maybe another 20 quid for the wall bracket.
Does anyone have any first hand experience of the Bose or anything else they can recommend?

Bose stuff sounds impressive but there are nearly always some flaws that a discerning listener would end up finding annoying. They may be good but just avoid being unduly influenced by Bose marketing.

I think the Sonos one is suppossed to be quite good.

Got a Sony sound base on sale in John Lewis and while it's bigger than a sound bar, if you have your telly on a stand its very good- tho mines wall mounted I'm just putting it on the above cabinet until I get a shelf sorted

I bought the Denon soundbase for my MIL and it is OK but needs a bit of volume to get going - plus the limited settings are a bit inflexible.

Having slagged off Bose I have used my soundlink mini form the TV headphone out with good results.

If you buy a Bose one 2nd hand to try and then don;t like it, resale should be good and better than some other brands.

Yamaha have been making excellent AV gear since year dot, I'd take a listen to some of their gear.

I think the way to look at the sonos is that you are getting a sonos system AND a good tv soundbar thing. Price does't seem so bad then. I'm almost there with this justification for our kitchen telly 🙂

These guys are decent and £200... I've got their 2.1 aego acoustic system for my kitchen and office speakers and they've held up really well over the years and I still think they sounds great.. I'd have no worries running them with my tv but it turns out they do a soundbar specifically now :

Sony soundbase here, was about that price. Excellent sound, easy controls, and links to phone, hard drive, etc for streaming.

I use Bose Companion 20 set of computer speakers, and they are very good. I also have used a Sonos 5 with input through the aux . Both take a headphone output from a Samsung TV. There are other options to soundbars

I'd go for a soundbase but I'm not sure the wife would like the idea too much.

My brother has got one of these and I think it's great. Think John Lewis sell them

I have the M12 Orbitsound, which, while good, has limitations.
The most annoying aspect is that the remote controller is crap to the point of being useless. As TV channels mess around with volumes means that you can't use fixed settings.
There's nothing worse than watching a late night movie and the gun shots or advert suddenly waking the dead.
It's a quality piece of kit though.
