So, I have my own domain hosted through a reseller and I set-up an email address through the Cpanel. Only problem is that the spam is out of control, even with spam assassin. My iPhone seems to pick up all mail without putting it through any kind of filter, whereas all the spam goes to the junk folder on computer. As the spam is coming in at the rate of about 20 an hour, it's starting to get tiresome.

Does anybody know how to activate spam filtering on the iPhone?

Yup, bounce everything through gmail. Free and easy.

Sounds like a good idea. Is it easy?

Depends how your spam filtering is done. I have my own domain too, but I just use a webmail provider, http://fastmail.fm, so they filter on their server before I see it on the iPhone or webmail.

I paid once, years ago, to become a lifetime member but I don't think they do that any more.

Good things: it's reliable; it has a decent web interface with no ads or fancy graphics (so it works well on the slowest connections); it offers IMAP access (so you can hook up iPhones, Outlook, Eudora etc and they all see the same email); it supports multiple email addresses/domains; it isn't Google.

Bad things: storage is very limited, especially compared to the likes of GMail; it isn't as slick or as well supported as GMail.

I like it. YMMV.

Give the free account a try and see how you go.
