I know the Sonos app debacle frustrated a lot of people (me included). But...
I had a Sonos Playbar. Bought 13 years ago. Didn't use it for the last 2 years as I'd replaced it with an Arc. Dusted it off to use with an older TV in the spare room - the Playbar had developed a high pitched whine. Apparently a known thing something to do with the power transformer.
I contacted Sonos support went through the usual rigmarole of trying various things ending with a factory reset of the Playbar that didn't fix the noise. They requested a recording of the noise which to my surprise the phone recording did capture!
At that point I was offered a return. Duly packaged the Playbar up and sent it off.ย
10 days later a package arrived. A brand spanking new Arc Ultra. I didn't expect that!!!
So the Arc is now on duty in the spare room and the new Arc Ultra is pride of place with the main TV in the living room (that said I still think the Playbar had the nicest sound when playing music).
I've no doubts Sonos are currently trying to recover good will from their customers who have lost confidence...
That said... I just had to tell someone - chuffed with my new Arc Ultra!!
Hang on, so the old playbar was 13 years old and they still sent you a brand new upgrade? That's pretty fantastic - maybe they're really on a customer service push, to try to make up for the gong show of the app (which actually now is pretty much fine)

Yup - exactly that!

TBH I now find the app to be working really very well indeed now - including the web player - they've obviously put a load of work in and got rid of the muppets who caused them so much ill-will.
Very happy with my Sonos systems.
I think my one outstanding niggle is the Music Library. I spent a long time ripping quite a large CD collection lossless and that still doesn't feel quite 'as good' as the old app. There's no option to organise via 'Album Artist' or to play via the Web App (that's to be expected I suppose), even now the search isn't great.
But on the whole it does seem to be working fine now.ย
