My niece has had some roofing repairs carried out on her house in the Lake District. The quality of the work was poor and the roofers wanted paid in full immediately.. My niece asked for an invoice which was refused, it quickly escalated and now the roofers have stripped the entire roof out of spite. She’s in tears, the police aren’t interested, apparently a civil matter. She now has a house with no roof and no plan to get it fixed
Any recommendations for good roofers in the area, or somebody that would be able to put tarps on as a stop gap appreciated.
Messy situation. Home insurance may help as prevents further damage. Have used Windermere roofing, David Bailey - very good.

If they've stripped or deliberately damaged previously undamaged parts of the roof rather than just the 'repaired' area, it's definitely a police matter.
Has she got legal as part of her home insurance?

I'm the same as Martinhutch - she's had her roof 'stolen' and damage caused.. Police matter surely?

Name and shame. That sort of behaviour sounds like complete bullying behaviour. I'd be considering legal action.

Sounds like something to escalate via complaints and the local PCC - police not bothering to intervene while criminal damage is being carried out in front of them.
