Thought i would head out on the bike to get a guestimate of my new commute and the time it'll take. On the way back I thought I would detour around the coast and take a few pics...
Got a 10-22 wigma lens at christmas and I want to try and take more landscape stuff. I'm just sussing out a few locations for future snaps :
From there, its out onto the old contruction yard near Hunterston ... they used to fix oil rigs here and also build the big submarine shed/dock thing thats now floating up at coulport for the nuclear subs.
Gratuitous bike shot

The metal thing is 1 of 6 tie posts around the pit.

Apparently they used to dig out banking, float in things and fill it back up ... its a bloody large pit.
There are a few abandoned buildings around the site too. Think this would make a good bike lock ?
Reminded me a of a computer game a little bit.
Lastly, I got a new desktop wallpaper out of the photos ... another gratuitous bike shot.
nice
Nice - good shots.
Like the sea one and better use of the selective colouring effect than most pics I see.
Like all of them.
But I especially like your Klein. Sooooo gutted I can't find one anywhere....
Mmmmm 10mm. Always have wanted one of these lenses so so badly! One day i will get one!
Still getting used to the 10mm ... definitely has potential to take really good shots ... just a case of trying to be there at the right time !
Been over the Fairley Moor road on it yet? 🙂
like those, and an interesting subject too. Love the Klein pearlesent paint 🙂
if you want some inspiration with the sigma 10-20mm then look here :-

Plenty of pictures there for inspiration.
Heather ... aye, been up the moor road ... on the road bike tho! bit of a grind with chunkies on.
Wish I had the arty flair you clearly have. Good pics.

Top shots mate. Well done. Like the fast shutter speed in the first pic. Makes the wave stand out.
love the pics, especially the top one! is that effect done with a faster ISO??
basically yes . I think it was up to 800iso and f4.0 to get the shutter speed up enough to stop the motion. It was quite dull at the time and I get noise in the frame
